Meet Our Team
Two board-certified Doctors of Chiropractic with advanced training in spinal decompression, clinical neurology, and non-surgical pain science — treating the root cause of your pain, not just the symptoms.

Dr. Matthew T. Jacobs, DC
Dr. Matthew Jacobs didn't become a spine specialist by accident. When he was 11 years old, a crackback block during a football game left him with whiplash injuries he couldn't shake. His father reached out to a chiropractor — Dr. Andrew — and the treatment worked. Dr. Matthew returned to sport and played football and lacrosse for years afterward. That experience planted the seed.
But it was watching his father that made it a mission.
His father worked in construction and began suffering with back pain at 34. After 8 years of daily pain, he finally sought help — only to be told surgery was his only option. He had low back surgery at 42 and neck surgery at 44. The pain came back. Today, Dr. Matthew's father has permanent loss of feeling in both hands — and is afraid to hold his own grandson because he fears dropping him.
That is why The Disc Doctor exists.
After earning his BS in Exercise Science and his Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College, Dr. Matthew trained under his mentors Dr. Andrew and Dr. Gulitz in Maryland before relocating to Murfreesboro in 2020 with his wife Dr. Krysten to open their own practice. He developed the DiscRestore™ Protocol — a structured, diagnosis-first system built around finding and correcting the structural root cause of disc and nerve pain before it becomes permanent.

Dr. Krysten A. Jacobs, DC
Dr. Krysten Jacobs grew up in Ottawa, Canada — a competitive athlete who played soccer at the Regional and Provincial levels for over 10 years, competed in water polo for 7 years including the University of Ottawa team, ran cross-country at the OFSAA Championships, and worked as a personal trainer for 8 years before earning her Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College.
That athletic background is not incidental to how she practices. It shapes how she sees every patient — not just as someone in pain, but as someone with a body that can heal, perform, and recover when given the right care.
She met Dr. Matthew at chiropractic college in 2014. After graduating, they built their careers in Maryland before making one of the most audacious moves in practice ownership history: relocating to a new state, closing on a practice acquisition, and welcoming their first child — all in the same month, in the middle of a global pandemic.
They moved to Murfreesboro on October 1, 2020. Luke was born November 4, 2020. They officially became practice owners on November 23, 2020.
Dr. Krysten brings the same DiscRestore™ Protocol and advanced non-surgical approach as Dr. Matthew — with a focus on guided recovery, long-term results, and whole-body care that her patients consistently describe as thorough, compassionate, and results-driven.

"Watching my father suffer to this day with conditions that could have been remedied before doing permanent surgery is why I became a Chiropractor. This is not just a job or a career for me. It is a mission."— Dr. Matthew T. Jacobs, DCAs told to CanvasRebel

We Don't Mask Pain. We Fix What's Causing It.
At The Disc Doctor, every treatment decision begins with one question: what is actually causing this patient's pain? Not which medication will quiet it, not which procedure will cut it out — but what structural or neurological condition is driving it, and how do we correct that at the source.
Dr. Matthew and Dr. Krysten Jacobs built this clinic around the conviction that most chronic spine and nerve pain is addressable without surgery or long-term medication — if the root cause is correctly identified and treated with the right non-invasive protocols. That philosophy shapes every evaluation, every treatment plan, and every follow-up.
Root-Cause Diagnosis
Every patient begins with a thorough evaluation to identify the structural and neurological source of their pain — not just the location of it.
Personalized Protocols
No two spines are the same. Every treatment plan is built around your specific anatomy, imaging, and pain history.
Long-Term Recovery
The goal is lasting relief — not temporary symptom management. Our protocols are designed to restore function and prevent recurrence.
